Mrs. Burnett's 7th Grade ELA & African American Literature
Mrs. Burnett

Hi,

I am honored and humbled to be teaching my second year at Justice Page Middle School. GO RHINOS!

A Little About Me:

I graduated in May 2015 with my Bachelor's Degree in Urban Education from Metropolitan State University with an emphasis in English Education.

Currently I am writing my Master's Thesis to the question: What teacher characteristics and abilities positively contribute to student learning towards closing the achievement? This study will look at the following two teacher characteristics and abilities: Teacher's Mindsets and Teacher's Reflective Practices and how they positively contribute to student learning towards closing the achievement gap. I will graduate in December 2017.

It is my belief that when teachers possess growth mindsets, and reflect practically, ALL students can gain access to education and learning at practical rates. Hence, closing the achievement gap in Americas Schools.

In My Free Time:

In my free time I like to sing, write songs and poetry and spend time with my husband James, and our six children, ages 20, 18, 15, 9, 6, and 3. I enjoy cooking, baking, fishing, camping and there is nothing like a good book.

I am looking forward to working with you all this year!
