Parent/Teacher Conferences
Wednesday, February 14, 2018 9:50 AM

Winter Conferences will be held next week. Drop-in conferences will be Friday, February 16 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. You do not need to schedule in advance. Come by anytime between 8 and noon to meet with your student’s teachers in their classrooms. If you are not available for Friday drop-ins, you may contact your student’s teachers and they will arrange a time to meet with you.

On Thursday, February 15, we will be having scheduled, invite-only conferences; families have been invited by the grade level teachers for in-depth conversations to help students make progress. If you have not been asked to attend a conference on Thursday evening, please either come to the Friday drop-ins or arrange an alternate time with your student’s teachers.

Requirement for High School
Wednesday, February 14, 2018 9:30 AM

Attention 8th Grade families: At last count, over 100 of our 8th grade students have not submitted a high school request. Submitting your online application is required, even if you live in the attendance area and are planning to attend your pathway school (e.g. Washburn). High school requests are due this Friday, February 17, 2018, and can be submitted using the online request center.

FAST Reports
Wednesday, February 14, 2018 9:20 AM

FAST reports will be available Thursday and Friday at conferences. See your student’s advisor for their progress report. If you do not attend conferences, the reports will be given to students during advisory on Tuesday, February 20.

This report describes how your student performed on the Fall and Winter aReading and aMath assessments. Benchmark scores for the aMath and aReading assessments are online. As with any test, we recognize that this score does not tell us everything there is to know about your student’s reading or math ability. Your student’s teacher will use this as one tool in addition to other information gathered throughout the school year to understand how your student is progressing in grade-level reading and math. If you have additional questions about your student’s FAST results, please feel free to reach out to Assistant Principal Angie Ness at Angie.Ness@mpls.k12.mn.us or 612.668.4040.
