2019 Battle of the Bands Student Art Contest
Wednesday, January 23, 2019 8:00 AM

Help design a new Battle of the Bands logo for the 5th anniversary!

The Battle of the Bands is an event featuring Page and Washburn student and staff bands, facing off for bragging rights and an amazing traveling guitar trophy. This year marks the 5th anniversary of this event and we’d like to celebrate with a new event logo. The artwork pictured has been used for the past four years and it is time for something new!

Students are encouraged to create a piece of original artwork to represent this event. The winning design will be featured on the 2019 event t-shirts and posters, and the artist of that winning design will receive a t-shirt and poster at the event!

Get more information on the contest deadline, the contest guidelines, and how to submit your design on the JPS PTA website.

For student bands interested in participating in the Battle of the Bands, watch for sign up announcements in February.

Next PTA Event: Creating Healthy Conversations Around Sexuality
Wednesday, January 23, 2019 7:30 AM

Need some new approaches when talking to your kids about sexuality and healthy relationships? Linda Madson, a parent educator with the Annex Teen Clinic, is back to talk about sexual health topics relevant to parents of middle schoolers and give us the tools we need to address those topics with our kids.

We'll cover gender identity, consent and boundaries, and making good decisions when it comes to sexuality. You'll have the chance to work through some real-life scenarios, hear actual questions from middle schoolers, and be able to ask your own questions.

Join us on Tuesday, February 12, at 6:30 PM in the Media Center. Questions? Email the PTA at
