Doug Werner

Hello! I am excited to be a part of the Justice Page Middle School team! This year, I will be teaching 8th grade Global Studies and 6th grade AVID elective class. I also will serve as the JPMS AVID coordinator.

I am excited for the 2017-18 school year! This will be my 15th year of teaching. Prior to teaching at Justice Page Middle School, I taught at Edison High School in Northeast for one year, and ten years in Rogers, Minnesota.

I am a native of the Twin Cities (White Bear Lake), and I attended Saint Mary's University in Winona for my bachelor of arts degree in social science.  I continued my education through Saint Mary's - Minneapolis by earning a masters of instruction with a Minnesota teaching license to teach 5-12 social studies in 2004. In addition, I have studied gifted/talented instruction, and have participated in five AVID summer institute trainings to learn the AVID instructional strategies.

In my spare time, I enjoy keeping up with current events, Minnesota politics, reading, trying new restaurants in Minneapolis, and traveling. Last summer, I spent time in Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
